Day 4: Thursday 5/4/17

I started my day off at 8:30. I was allowed to decide what classroom I wanted to be in for the morning. I went with the three year olds. When I first walked in they all came over and gave me hugs and all asked me to play with them. Marley asked me to read her a book so I did. A bunch of the other kids came over and sat next to me while I read them the book. We then got our coats on and went outside. We spent a lot of time outside today because of the warm weather and no rain. When we got outside a few of the children asked me to play with them but they all wanted to do different things so I had to split my time up. I first played around with Taft. He wanted me to chase him around so I did this. I later caught Lucy, Reagan and some of the other girls at the bottom of the slide. Liam stayed by my side for a lot of this and we later played catch and then he sat next to me for a bit. We then went inside where they sat on the carpet. Miss Crystal then explained to them the art project they were doing for mothers days. While this was happening I went downstairs to the other classroom to pick up two of the kids who were coming upstairs for the day. After this we sat in the circle and they sang songs. They then got called one at a time for snack. I helped some of them pick out what snack they could eat and open them if they needed it. After they had snack we went back outside. I stayed outside with Miss Becky while Miss Crystal stayed inside and did the art project with two kids at a time. I played a lot with Liam this time I was outside. After spending a good hour outside we went to the other playground. This is where some kids got to play with chalk and others stayed in the playground. Many of the kids wanted to get pushed in the cars so I helped them. I then played pretend cooking with Liam and Adrian. When then went inside for lunch, I sat at a table with Taft, Reagan,Bryson. They like to talk a lot during lunch and it keeps for very interesting conversations. After lunch Miss Becky read them a story and then they went and found their mats for nap time. I then took a break. I came back in the afternoon in which I went to the four year old classroom. They were waking up from their naps and they all remembered who I was and came up and gave me hugs. I sat and had snack time with them. This was a pretty laid back afternoon. They then had free time in which I played and read books to them. We then went outside and played for the rest of the afternoon.I really enjoy working with these age groups. They keep you busy and are also very independent at times. I worked a total of 5 hrs and 45 minutes today.
